We carry that tradition forward in Edmonton, roasting in small batches and building relationships with the farmers who grow our coffee. Every bag of Awel Buna is a bridge between two homes.

Born in Ethiopia
Coffee — buna — was first discovered in the forests of Ethiopia. For our family, it has always been more than a drink; it is ceremony, hospitality and community.
A new home in Canada
When our founder moved to Edmonton, the one thing that felt missing was the authentic taste of home. So began the search for truly exceptional Ethiopian beans.

We opened our small-batch roastery in Edmonton, sourcing directly from Ethiopian cooperatives and roasting with care to honour each origin.
